To find out what your child did at school today ask them specific or open ended questions that will not have a yes/no answer....
- What greeting did you do at morning meeting?
- What did you eat at lunch?
- Who did you play with at play centers or recess?
- What did you practice during reading? (alphabet, matching upper & lowercase letters, letter sounds, high frequency words, reading books)
- What did you use to practice reading? (What center materials?)
- What did you practice during math? What did you use to practice that?
- What special did you have? What game did you play, book did you read, song did you sing?
- What choice center did you learn in this afternoon?
- What was the book about that Miss Amaru read today?
- What questions did you ask today?
- What guidelines were hard for you to practice today?
- What guidelines were easy for you to practice today?
